It’s February 1, so you know Twitter is lighting up with white people — mostly teenagers, which makes me so incredibly depressed — who are just baffled or angry about the fact that there’s no white history month when there’s a black history month.
There are thousands of these; I just grabbed a few for posterity.
Sure, lets celebrate how you stole everything & called it your own when it wasn’t yours to claim in the first place. Right…
then people ask me why do i dislike white people sometimes…
Damn can we get ONE month out of the damn year without being questioned? February = Black History Month. The rest of the fucking year is white history month. STFU.

I swear Black people are the most racist lol, I swear I say this shit all the time. One of the big reasons racism still exists is because we do put ourselves on a pedestal as if we’re owed something from ancestral mistakes. If we stopped acting so butthurt and stopped thinkig that we deserve something, that’d be the biggest step forward in the killing of racism.
There shouldn’t fucking be a black history month. I’m black and I 100% agree. There is no Hispanic history month, there is no Asian history month, there is no African history month, there is no Indian history month, there is no Jewish history month and there is no Native American history month, so why are we so special? Because we went through slavery? I could’ve sworn we weren’t the only slaves. I could’ve sworn that Native American’s were nearly put into extinction. I could’ve sworn Jews have been getting slaughtered since way before American slavery began. I could’ve sworn they are STILL struggling in Asian, Indian & African countries. So why do African-Americans believe that we deserve more than any other race?
What needs to happen is that February needs to go back to just being a regular old month and we need to celebrate HUMAN history 365. No matter your race, no matter your country of residence, no matter your religion beliefs and views, we should all celebrate HUMAN history because that’s what the fuck we are. But that won’t ever happen because, again, black people feel that we’re owed a whole month (just 1 month, like the whole year wouldn’t be better anyway?) due to ancestral mistakes. Get the fuck over it. Life moves on.

I’m sorry, you were saying, who doesn’t have a month? Black people are the most racist?, against whom exactly? That’s the one of the main reasons why racism still exists? because black people are putting themselves on some sort of pedestal? I thought a big reason why racism still exists is due to racist ideology and behaviors, I could be wrong.
What would be greatly appreciated is that during Black History Month is that we learn more than the approved list of black people that usually gets talked about.

These are some old scars, slightly hard to see because time has faded them. I used to be self conscious, avoiding well-lit intimate moments and bare-all bikinis for fear of scrutiny, and to avoid explaining that I put them there myself. But the fact that they are there is a reminder of who I used to be, and the fact that they have faded is a reminder that things get better no matter how hopeless they may have seemed before.
